Biography When it is off-season in Mesa, Mike retreats to cooler spots like McCloud Dance Country in McCloud, California. He has been featured caller at many festivals around the country. Some are: Silver State Festival (Reno), the Tucson Festival, Golden State Roundup (Oakland/San Francisco), Bakersfield Fiesta (Bakersfield, CA), the Oregon-Mid-Winter Festival (Eugene), the Oregon Summer Festival (Portland), the Washington State Festival and the Utah Spring and Fall Festivals. Mike has also toured Canada, England, Sweden, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, and Japan. Mike's square dance recordings are extensive. His newest CD is Close Enough to Touch. You can hear excerpts and read the lyrics at this link. He currently records for Mesa Apache Productions, his own company. His square dance releases have been Forever Young, and Ladies’ Night . MAP has also released 2 hoedowns, Rain Dance and Melodee in E . In the past, on other labels, he has released the singing calls 16 Tons and Should've Been A Cowboy , and a hoedown entitled Boil 'Em Cabbage . He's also recorded Blueberry Hill , Bradley the Brown Nosed Reindeer, Music Box Dancer , and Ghost Riders in the Sky . These last two were best sellers. Mike also writes and records popular music. Geri Koeppel, feature writer for the East Valley Tribune, has called his music “Elvis meets Gordon Lightfoot”. Dear John is his dedication to Johnny Cash. Time is Standing Still is a love song he wrote for his sweetheart, Marjean.
